My Farewell Note
A celebration of life

- When someone dies, have you ever wondered if they had thoughts and messages, which they never got round to sending or saying, to their loved ones?
- What would they have said, if they had lived for one more hour?
- Do your loved ones know how you feel about them?
- What would you like to say to those you leave behind?
Losing someone close to you can be a very traumatic and upsetting experience.
Whilst we may not want to think about it, the unpredictable nature of life means that we don’t always have the opportunity to express our true feelings, resolve disputes, or end things in a way we would like.
With myfarewellnote you can offer the gift of comfort and support to those you leave behind, helping them to come to terms with what has happened.
myfarewellnote is a discreet and secure digital service, which allows you to leave personalised messages for your loved ones.
Whilst the recipients will be aware that a note has been created for them, the messages are only accessible to them after you have passed away.
There is a choice of leaving a short text message for free, or, for a small fee, for each recipient, create a timeline, of texts and photos, that you can add to, over the course of your life.
You can set up as many recipients as you want to, and all you need to do is ensure that their details are kept up to date.
There is an annual fee of £2, which is for retaining your account and all of your notes (regardless of how many notes you create).
Live with the comfort of knowing that even though you are no longer with them, your friends and family will have the gift of comfort and memories, when they need it most.
Some things are just too important to be left unsaid..

The SEN Family Network
Fighting for SEN families through support, resources & guidance
Lucas was a bright, funny and kind child. But by the time he was eight, he was already showing signs of autistic traits. School became a struggle, and despite his obvious intelligence, he couldn’t cope in a mainstream setting. At 13, he was permanently excluded from school.
Despite having an EHCP, the system failed him. After fighting for a placement and then spending a few years at a local special school which he loved, this only went up to the age of 16. There were no other suitable local placements, and I was told I had to wait or accept an unsuitable school —one that didn’t understand his needs. He spent months out of education, isolated and struggling. I knew this wasn’t right, so I fought back.
We finally secured a residential placement, but just before Lucas was due to start, the school was shut down by Ofsted. The next placement refused to administer his medication and Lucas became dangerously ill. I had to pull him out.
Then lockdown hit.
For several years, Lucas was out of education. His EHCP was frozen. He had no support. I knew I had to take action — again.
After years of roadblocks, I knew I had to take legal action. The local education authority (LEA) had approved only one day per week at a specialist college. This was forcing Lucas into a 10-hour round trip for just a few hours of education. It wasn’t right, and it wasn’t enough. I fought back, and after presenting our case in court, the judge ruled in our favour. The LEA was obliged to grant Lucas a full five-day placement.
Even after the judicial review, I knew there was more to fight for. The original plan meant Lucas would have to leave his placement every weekend, despite his clear need for full-time residential support. I refused to drop the tribunal case, pushing for a 52-week placement so he could receive both education and social care in one place. Just weeks before the tribunal, the LEA backed down and settled in our favour.
After years of uncertainty, battles, and setbacks, Lucas is now finally where he should have been all along: in a setting that supports him, understands his needs, and gives him the best possible future.
